Coco Montes brings together ten JRE-España chefs in Madrid
On 22 October 2026, Coco Montes, chef of Pabú and a board member of JRE-España, hosted in Madrid the first meeting of the association's new era. JRE (Jeunes Restaurateurs) brings together young chefs and independent restaurants from all over Europe.
Ten kitchens, shared values
The meeting was called “What makes us different. What unites us.” Each restaurant has its own identity, but we all share respect for produce, signature cooking and warm hospitality. These were the ten chefs:
Coco Montes, Pabú (Madrid)
Javi Estévez, La Tasquería (Madrid)
Manuel Franco, La Casa de Manolo Franco (Valdemorillo, Madrid)
Manu Núñez, Besta (Barcelona)
Teresa Gutiérrez, Azafrán (Villarrobledo, Albacete)
Carito Lourenço, Fierro (Valencia)
Lola Marín, Damasqueros (Granada)
José Antonio Medina, Coto de Quevedo (Torre de Juan Abad, Ciudad Real)
Pablo Sánchez, Marmitón Bistró (Madrid)
Gonzalo Zarcero, Marmitón Bistró (Madrid)
A new era for JRE-España
We were joined by JRE representatives, national and international partners, media and future members. It is the first in a series of meetings to help JRE restaurants in Spain get to know each other, collaborate and gain visibility.
Thank you to all the colleagues who came to Madrid. We'll keep cooking together.
